SYSTEM 8 AMS Advanced Matrix Scanner

The SYSTEM 8 Advanced Matrix Scanner is the latest addition to the SYSTEM 8 range and offers new and unique features for the testing and diagnostics of components under power-off conditions.

Using a novel approach to V/I signature testing, the SYSTEM 8 AMS increases test coverage by varying the frequency of the test signal to observe the DUT's (Device Under Test) response over a frequency range. This can lead to finding faults not detectable with other instruments.
The AMS also benefits from 64 channels to speed up
acquisition and to test high pin count devices as well as complete PCBs.
Single channels can also be used for local analysis.
Thanks to configurable pulse outputs, dynamic tests can be run on gate-activated devices (triacs, transistors, SCRs etc...)
with no power applied to the board.

Features:
V/I signature analysis with frequency range
V/I signature analysis (static frequency)
Matrix V/I analysis (multiple reference)
Dynamic V/T analysis (pulse outputs)
Automatic live comparison
Automatic comparison with saved mask
Interactive test sequences with the ABI software`
Specifications:
64 channels per module (expandable to 2,048 channels)
4 single channels
4 configurable pulse outputs
4 ground connections
SYSTEM 8 ATM Advanced Test Module

System 8 MIS4 Multiple Instrument Station

The Multiple Instrument Station MIS4 provides you with all the instruments required for the test and measurement of electronic components and PCBs. This portable, USB driven module can be installed into an ABI USB Multilink Case or even into your existing PC! (please contact sales for details).

ABI's SYSTEM 8 MIS4, along with the Ultimate software, is a faster and more economical solution than using traditional oscilloscope, metering and other bench test instruments, and can quickly produce the required Pass/Fail or other test and debug results.

The MIS 4 package comes complete with the TestFlow Manager, a step by step sequence generator that guides operators during fault-finding or test procedure processes. The TestFlow greatly reduces the risk of inaccurate measurements and automatically saves all test parameters for a final customised test report.

SYSTEM8 PPS Programmable Power Supply
The Programmable Power Supply (PPS) is ABI’s most ambitious power module developed for the SYSTEM 8 range. Over 35 years of excellence in product design and manufacturing were applied to the making of this USB driven, versatile unit that suits various test and measurement scenarios. From low to medium volume production test, through to predictive/corrective and PCB troubleshooting tasks.
All PPS channels are isolated and have equal capabilities. In normal operation, each channel is fully independent and isolated. This is equivalent to having separate single output power supplies. The output polarity can even be reversed in software, removing the need to swap cables over to provide negative voltages.
SYSTEM 8 Programmable Power Supply
In group operation, channels can be placed into arbitrary groups for easy multichannel control. Any number of channels can be added to a group, and up to 3 independent groups can be setup and controlled. Grouped channels remain isolated but work to achieve a common goal, these include:
Isolated Voltage Tracking – Channels are set equal to the group’s voltage limit but have independent current control. This can be used to generate tracking bipolar voltages or tracking unipolar voltages relative to different grounds.
Power Sequencing – Channels respond to a group On/Off control.
Voltage Stacking – When voltages above 40V are required, or higher currents (8A MAX) channels can be externally wired in series. The group’s set voltage will be divided equally between all members of the group to make efficient use of each channels power envelope and the group’s current limit will be applied to all members equally.
Parallel – When currents above 8A are required channels can be externally wired in parallel. The group’s set current limit will be divided equally between all members of the group to make efficient use of each channels power envelope and the group’s voltage limit will be applied to all members equally.
SYSTEM8 MMS Multiplexed Matrix Switch

The ABI Multiplexed Matrix Switch (MMS) is a 16x16 matrix interface that offers 256 cross points to connect any channel to any channel, with up to 16 unique paths at a time. The MMS can also be used as multiplexer or de-multiplexer and is an economical alternative to automate low to medium volume test requirements.
Designed to work exclusively with ABI's range of test instruments, the MMS can deliver high-level results without the need for programming and for a fraction of the cost of a traditional ATE, PXI or LXI instrumentation. Multiple test solutions can be easily set up for high channel count applications.
JTAGMaster Tester and Programmer

The JTAGMaster Tester and Programmer is a fully integrated solution for the configuration and diagnosis of Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs). This unit includes :

A boundary-scan tester to arbitrarily observe individual pins and therefore determine their functionality. This information can be saved in customisable test procedures which can also include pictures and datasheets. EXTEST mode is also available to manually change the state of pins and trace the effect(s) on the other device(s) in the chain. Scan Check is a multi-license software to run boundary scan checks on multiple stations.
A programming interface designed to handle industry standard JAM STAPL files (Standard Test And Programming Language) and SVF files (Serial Vector Format) to send programming instructions as well as testing functions to the device. ABI uses the JTAG Standards (Joint Test Action Group, compatible with IEEE1149.1) which ensures compatibility between all compliant ICs.
The JTAGMaster is also capable of programming EEPROM devices using external adapters. Standard brinary files are supported and can also be modified in the device buffer window. A wide range of EEPROM devices are present in the library which can be easily modified by users. The following protocols are supported by the JTAGMaster :
Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI)
Inter-Integrated Circuit (I²C)
Microwire (μwire)
As a product, the JTAGMaster In-System and Standalone Programmer is also available.

The JTAGMaster Tester and Programmer is designed to work with ABI’s bespoke software - a multiple purpose platform which enables users to freely configure test procedures and instruments. Integrated functions are also available to the user to automatically learn the device status, provide pin-to-pin comparison and information as well as use some reporting facilities. The internal library can be updated through BSDL files available from manufacturers' websites.
With its ability to both test and program PLDs, this new ABI product allows users to verify the functionality of a device, download a bespoke program to a device or even re-test the device after it has been programmed !

Reverse Engineering and Prototyping
RevEng offers an effective method of creating professional quality circuit diagrams from a sample board. The RevEng system comprises a PC controlled continuity measuring hardware system, SYSTEM 8 Ultimate control software, and EdWin XP, a fully-featured CAD package.
RevEng learns the connectivity of a sample circuit then produces a NetList (a list of the components and connections). The NetList is imported into EdWin XP to create professional-quality circuit diagrams.
